What was you doing before you started your apprenticeship?
I was attending Sixth form A levels undertaking the subjects Physics, Computer Science and Product Design. I got the job after I received my A level results and was on active job searching after my last exam.
What made you apply for this apprenticeship with T3?
A strong interest in the construction industry regarding CAD designing as well as being a stepping stone into other construction/engineering jobs
What have you learned since starting your apprenticeship?
Learnt more in-depth knowledge about CAD and knowledge relating from the construction industry, as well as learning the general processes of work.
Who do you work for and what do they do?
I work for FP McCann and they produce pre-cast concrete solutions for various clients, and undergo all the processes from producing the design to shipping of the precast unit
What is your role at FP McCann?
My role is an apprentice Cad Designer in the culvert department, my work is producing models and drawings for pre-cast solutions and issuing them to the manufacturers after being checked by myself and peers.
What are your future goals within the company?
Work within the company to gain skills and experience as well as achieving the NVQ in Design & Draughting and a BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment. I will then progress on to university and work towards a degree
